Rusty Jim

The Shove Knife aka. Jim tool is a thin, flexible piece of metal that's used to slide between the door and the door frame to manipulate the latch mechanism, allowing the door to be opened without the use of a key. It's particularly effective on simple latch systems that don't have adequate protection against such bypass methods. The tool is made from hardened spring steel and is approxmitaly 12cm in total. This variant of the tool is made out of handsaw blades. Very flexible and thin. The tool is covered in a natural oxidation made by dipping the steel in vinegar. This makes a cool dark and almost rusty look.

This tool is highly effective, and with the right technique it only takes a couple of seconds to open a door with a vulnerable latch.
